HMG (Human Menopausal Gonadotropin)

HMG directly stimulates the gonads (testes in men / ovaries in women).

In men:

* FSH → stimulates spermatogenesis (sperm production) in the testes * LH → stimulates Leydig cells to produce testosterone

In women:

* FSH → promotes follicle development in the ovaries * LH → triggers ovulation

HMG works by mimicking the natural hormones FSH and LH.

* FSH effect: activates Sertoli cells → supports sperm maturation * LH effect: activates Leydig cells → increases testosterone production

So basically: 👉 HMG = direct stimulation of the testes from inside (not just signaling like HCG)

* HCG acts like LH only → increases testosterone * HMG contains both LH + FSH → supports testosterone and fertility

* HCG = mainly for testosterone support * HMG = for fertility + sperm quality

HMG is used in medical and performance contexts for:

* Supporting male fertility * Improving sperm count and quality * Recovery of natural hormone function * Supporting testicular function after suppression

In women:

* Ovulation induction * Fertility treatments
